Released today through ONES and ZEROS, 7LLVSION marks the latest chapter for German-Iraqi producer Alex Ridha and his first solo album in five years.
Featuring an international lineup of collaborators, including Brutalismus 3000, ZEP, TAICHU, ABRA, Mayah Alkhateri, Adame DJ, Locked Club, and Safety Trance, 7LLVSION is a loud, unpredictable collision of techno, punk, industrial, electro, and underground club sounds.
The album wastes little time making its intentions clear. Opening track “Illusion” sets the tone with distorted synthesizers and pounding rhythms, while “1+1+1” brings in ZEP’s punk-inspired vocals. The Brutalismus 3000 collaboration “Nächstenliebe” delivers another aggressive highlight, blending industrial energy with an explosive club-ready sound.
Elsewhere, Ridha experiments with Mississippi blues influences on “Take Me Out,” Latin-inspired rhythms on “Shut it Down” with TAICHU, and an unconventional mix of coldwave, guitar, and Arabic vocals on “Ycore,” featuring Mayah Alkhateri.
The release follows an enormous period for Boys Noize, including collaborations with Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross, work on the TRON: Ares soundtrack, and performances alongside Nine Inch Nails. Yet 7LLVSION feels like a statement of its own, with Ridha continuing to challenge expectations rather than settle into a familiar formula.
Across twelve tracks, 7LLVSION looks backward and forward at the same time, pulling from underground music history while embracing sounds that refuse to fit neatly into any one genre.
