Universal Pictures and DreamWorks Pictures are celebrating the 25th anniversary of Chicken Run with a special nationwide theatrical re-release on November 9 and 12, 2025. Fans can once again experience the beloved stop-motion adventure from Aardman—the visionary British studio behind Wallace & Gromit—on the big screen.
Directed by Peter Lord and Nick Park, the film follows Ginger (Julia Sawalha) and her feathered friends as they plot their daring escape from the menacing Tweedy Chicken Farm. When Rocky the “Flying Rooster” (Mel Gibson) swoops in, the flock hatches a plan to soar toward freedom—though things don’t quite go as planned.
Originally released in 2000, Chicken Run became the highest-grossing stop-motion film ever, earning more than $225 million worldwide and praise for its wit, heart, and handcrafted artistry.
With its enduring humor and hopeful spirit, Chicken Run remains a landmark in animation—and this limited re-release is the perfect chance to relive its flight to freedom.
Advance tickets are on sale now.
