Comedian Chris Fleming makes his HBO comedy special debut when CHRIS FLEMING: LIVE AT THE PALACEpremieres Friday, February 27 at 10:00 p.m. ET/PT on HBO and streams on HBO Max.
Filmed at the Cadillac Palace Theatre in Chicago, the special captures Fleming’s signature mix of sharp storytelling and explosive physical comedy. A high-energy force, he leaps from Trader Joe’s to Oreos, NPR to dog breeds, weaving in riffs on masculinity, conga lines, and even Tillamook cheese — sometimes punctuated by dancing or song. The result is a wildly funny, refreshingly unpredictable hour.
“I hereby decree my first HBO special will soon be available for you to consume — please enjoy and feel free to dance along,” Fleming said.
Nina Rosenstein, Executive Vice President, HBO Programming, praised his “exquisitely precise” jokes and “borderline acrobatic” physicality.
Written and performed by Fleming and directed by Bill Benz, the special cements the New York Times–praised comic as one of today’s most distinctive comedic voices.
