Crumb and Melody’s Echo Chamber are joining forces for new single “Le Temple Volant.” The collaboration, co-written by Melody and the band, synthesizes Crumb’s signature swirling instrumentation with Ramani and Protchet’s otherworldly vocals. The song arrives accompanied by a retro, home video-style visual directed by Phil McGill, that complements the intimate nature of the song. The video also documents the first face-to-face meeting between Crumb and Melody as they recorded their parts of the song separately.

Reflecting on this collaboration, Melody shares:

“I remember the first time I heard Crumb’s music, it was the song ‘Locket’ that blew my mind. I think it kind of enlightened that spark in me that loves music so passionately, and made me reach out to them. The love was mutual and once that door was opened, we had to create something together, it’s been a nice flow of ideas back and forth.”

Crumb reciprocated Melody’s admiration for their work, revealing:

“[Melody’s] music feels deeply nostalgic and so intertwined with that tender period of first starting the band. When she reached out to us during lockdown expressing her love for our music, it was a surreal and full circle moment. It feels right for this to be our first song with another musical artist… We came together for the first time to film part of the video, which was filmed on Roosevelt Island, with additional filming in New Zealand and Australia.”

“Le Temple Volant” follows Crumb’s two earlier singles from this year, “Dust Bunny” and “Crushxd.” These releases add to Crumb’s growing discography, which includes their 2016 self-titled EP, 2017 EP Locket, 2019 debut LP Jinx and their most recent offering, 2021’s full length Ice Melt.

Last year, Melody’s Echo Chamber released her third full length album Emotional Eternal. To celebrate the tenth anniversary of her eponymously-titled debut album, she also reissued Melody’s Echo Chamber alongside the release of Unfold – a collection of seven rare and previously unreleased tracks from 2013.
