Cursive has released the chilling, cinematic music video for “Dark Star,” the latest single from their highly praised album Devourer. Directed by Jenn Wexler, this eerie video marks the final piece in the band’s horror-themed video series, following previous collaborations with directors like Chelsea Stardust and Brea Grant.
The track “Dark Star” reflects a moodier side of the album, exploring the internal struggle with darkness. Frontman Tim Kasher describes the video as a playful yet horrifying portrayal of debauchery spiraling into terror. Devourer captures Cursive’s artistic evolution, addressing themes like consumption, self-expression, and the anxieties of modern life.
The band will hit the road with a U.S. headline tour starting January 30th, supported by Pile. They’ll also join Bright Eyes for select North American dates in April. Devourer continues Cursive’s legacy of pushing musical and thematic boundaries, cementing their place as one of the most influential indie rock bands to emerge from the late ’90s/early 2000s scene.
