Apple TV’s mind-bending sci-fi thriller Dark Matter is back—and Jason Dessen’s multiverse nightmare is far from over.
Starring and executive produced by Joel Edgerton and Jennifer Connelly, Season 2 picks up with the Dessen family finally settling into what looks like a safe, quiet life. But in Dark Matter, “safe” never lasts long.
Based on Blake Crouch’s bestselling novel, the new season sends Jason deeper into the mysteries of the Box, while Daniela’s growing paranoia threatens to fracture the family. Their son Charlie is desperate for stability, while Amanda and Ryan team up in a race to find their way home. Meanwhile, Blair is determined to stop Leighton from pursuing his ambitious—and potentially dangerous—vision of a perfect world.
The 10-episode season brings back Alice Braga, Jimmi Simpson, Dayo Okeniyi, Oakes Fegley and Amanda Brugel alongside Edgerton and Connelly.
Season 2 premieres Friday, August 28, 2026, on Apple TV, with new episodes arriving every Friday through October 30. As the series continues its exploration of alternate lives and impossible choices, one question remains: how far would you go to get back to the life you thought was yours?
Dark Matter returns August 28 on Apple TV.
