Today, Mexico City and Austin-based trio Demons My Friends release their powerful new single, “The Isolate,” marking their debut on heavy music label Ripple Music. The track offers a raw, personal glimpse into the band’s thematic core — an exploration of anxiety and the unseen battles we fight within.

“The Isolate” serves as both a stand-alone statement and a prelude to the band’s soon-to-be-announced sophomore release. Guitarist and vocalist Pablo Anton explains, “With this new song we wanted to shine a light on our teen years. So much of the drama we experienced felt overwhelming back then, but looking back, it was often self-created — demons that only lived inside us, invisible to the outside world.”

Formed during an impromptu recording session at SXSW Festival 2022, Demons My Friends was born out of necessity, as its members confronted anxiety, depression, and rage during the pandemic. Their name reflects their mission: turning inner torment into creative fuel. Featuring musicians from Washington, DC’s Fellowcraft and Mexico City’s acclaimed QBO, the band brings a rich, cross-border chemistry to their sound.

Their upcoming debut album, Demons Seem To Gather, promises to position them as a formidable force in the evolving heavy music scene. The record blends drop-tuned grunge, doom-laden structures, soaring melodies, and psychedelic harmonies, evoking influences like Monolord, King Buffalo, All Them Witches, Soundgarden, and Baroness. Yet, Demons My Friends transcend typical genre lines with musicianship that feels both grounded and expansive.

As heavy music continues to morph, Demons My Friends emerge as future leaders of the genre’s next wave. With “The Isolate,” they’ve not only captured the weight of private struggle but also signaled the arrival of a band poised to make a lasting impact.
