The free ROOTS update brings fresh thrills to one of 2025’s biggest multiplayer hits.
Landfall (HASTE, Totally Accurate Battle Simulator) and AGGRO CRAB (Another Crab’s Treasure) have released the ROOTS update for their wildly successful first-person co-op climbing game, PEAK.
This free update introduces a lush new biome inspired by the misty Pacific Northwest forests near AGGRO CRAB’s Seattle studio. Players can now explore dense woodland peaks, snack on strange mushrooms, and flee from terrifying new foes—like spiders, giant beetles, and the undead. The update also adds new badges, items, and secrets waiting to be unearthed.
Originally born from a chaotic February 2025 game jam, PEAK has since climbed to over 10 million copies sold, following August’s MESA biome update.
In PEAK, you and your friends play as stranded scouts with one desperate goal: scale the ever-changing mountain or perish trying. Cooperation, resourcefulness, and pure climbing skill are your only lifelines.
