If you’ve ever wondered what would happen if Springfield’s chaos collided with the world of MONOPOLY GO!, Scopely is about to answer that question in spectacular fashion.

Starting June 3, MONOPOLY GO! players will be welcomed into an all-new universe inspired by The Simpsons, bringing together two of pop culture’s most recognizable worlds for nearly two months of mischief, mayhem, and plenty of laughs.

Running through July 29, the crossover marks The Simpsons’ first dedicated mobile gaming experience in more than 13 years—and this isn’t just a simple character drop or themed event. Scopely and the creative team behind The Simpsons have built an entirely new shared universe packed with original stories, gameplay twists, collectibles, and animated content.

Springfield, Meet Mr. Monopoly

Players will journey through iconic Springfield locations reimagined in MONOPOLY GO!’s signature art style, including the Nuclear Power Plant, Krustyland, and more. Along the way, fan favorites Homer, Marge, Bart, Lisa, and Mr. Burns join forces—and occasionally clash—with Mr. Monopoly, Scottie, and the rest of the MONOPOLY GO! crew.

The result? A crossover that feels less like a promotion and more like a full-blown Simpsons season taking place inside the game.

Storytelling Takes Center Stage

For the first time in MONOPOLY GO! history, seasonal gameplay is tied together through ongoing narrative-driven Episodes that unfold every two weeks.

Each Episode introduces a brand-new Simpsons-inspired story, complete with connected seasonal boards, collectible sticker sets, mini-games, and animated sequences. One storyline might see Homer accidentally triggering a nuclear meltdown, while another revolves around a mysterious disappearance at Krustyland.

The stories don’t just provide context—they shape the entire player experience.

Expect Chaos Around Every Corner

Naturally, Springfield’s trademark humor spills into every aspect of gameplay.

Among the standout additions:

  • The Simpsons Run – Familiar Springfield residents take over Free Parking and launch character-themed runs across the board, complete with hazards, jokes, and animated moments.
  • Simpsons-Themed Shutdowns & Heists – Expect runaway monorails, over-the-top destruction, and disasters worthy of a classic episode.
  • Bribe Wiggum – A new spin on the Jail mechanic lets players bribe Chief Wiggum for a chance at bigger rewards—though things rarely go according to plan.
  • 50+ Simpsons Chance Cards – Packed with references, memes, callbacks, and one-liners that longtime fans will instantly recognize.

Scopely says the collaboration is filled with hidden details, Easter eggs, and deep-cut references designed to reward dedicated Simpsons fans.

A Billionaire Feud Decades in the Making

The crossover also launches alongside an original animated short created by The Simpsons team.

Titled “Mr. Burns and Mr. Monopoly’s Excellent Rivalry,” the short reignites a decades-old grudge between Springfield’s most notorious billionaire and the famous board game tycoon.

The story reveals that Mr. Burns and Mr. Monopoly have been feuding since their Yale days over a stolen top hat. What begins as an awkward reunion quickly escalates into an absurd battle of wealth, ego, and chaos.

Adding even more star power, Will Ferrell voices Mr. Monopoly while Harry Shearer returns as Mr. Burns.

More Than a Typical Crossover

According to Scopely, the goal was never simply to place Springfield inside MONOPOLY GO!, but to create a world where both franchises could collide in unexpected ways.

That philosophy appears throughout the event, from the interconnected storytelling and collectible sticker sets to the game’s new mechanics and original animation.

For Simpsons fans, it’s a rare chance to revisit Springfield in an interactive experience built specifically around the show’s humor. For MONOPOLY GO! players, it’s a fresh season packed with new ways to play.

One thing is certain: when Homer Simpson enters the world of MONOPOLY GO!, nobody’s property—and probably nobody’s nuclear reactor—is safe.

MONOPOLY GO! x The Simpsons launches June 3 and runs through July 29 on iOS and Android.
