Square Enix is inviting players to begin their next grand adventure early with a free demo for DRAGON QUEST VII Reimagined, available now. The demo offers several hours of gameplay from the opening of the story, and progress carries over to the full release when the game launches on February 5, 2026.
Fans who continue their journey from the demo into the full game will unlock a special in-game reward: the charming “Day Off Dress” cosmetic for Maribel, adding a stylish flair to the party.
DRAGON QUEST VII Reimagined retells the beloved 2000 classic with a modern touch. Players follow a young hero and his friends as they uncover ancient tablet fragments that send them back in time to restore forgotten lands. What begins as a mystery soon grows into a sweeping battle for the world’s future.
The remake features beautifully reimagined 3D visuals inspired by Akira Toriyama’s iconic designs, diorama-style environments, and a more streamlined narrative enriched with optional side quests and minigames. Combat has also evolved, introducing new mechanics like dual vocations through Moonlighting, the powerful Let Loose ability, and a brand-new Monster Master vocation.
Pre-orders are now open across all platforms, with bonus costumes, items, and a Digital Deluxe Edition offering early access.
DRAGON QUEST VII Reimagined will be available for Nintendo Switch 2, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC via Steam and Microsoft Store on Windows on Feb. 5, 2026, at a suggested retail price of $59.99.
