Dreamer Boy, the rising singer-songwriter dubbed an “artist to watch” by FLAUNT, has just dropped his latest album, “Lonestar,” today, courtesy of slowplay / Capitol Records. Alongside the album release, Dreamer Boy also unveiled his newest single, “Baby Blue,” a captivating and bittersweet track that evokes memories of late-night drives and contemplation of past experiences. The song’s accompanying visualizer, shot in black and white, features Dreamer Boy performing outside a deserted gas station in Valentine, TX.

Delving into the album’s theme, Dreamer Boy shares his perspective on love, describing it as a complex journey that unfolds over time, whether in a momentary spark or through years of connection. He explains that “Lonestar” explores various facets of modern romance, from harsh realities leading to heartbreak to lingering emotions that endure despite the passage of time.

To support the album, Dreamer Boy and his band, The Lone Stars, are gearing up for a month-long headline tour across North America, commencing on May 28 at Valley Bar in Phoenix. Dubbed the “Summer in America” tour, it includes notable stops at venues like Nashville’s Exit/In and Baby’s All Right in Brooklyn before concluding at the historic Troubadour in West Hollywood, CA on June 27.

“Lonestar” itself is a reflective journey, beginning with themes of change and heartache in tracks like “Summer in America,” which captures the essence of uncertainty against the backdrop of American landscapes. As the album progresses, it culminates in a sense of contentment and new beginnings with the track “Harmony.”

Transitioning from his previous album, “All the Ways We Are Together,” Dreamer Boy’s “Lonestar” signifies a shift from introspection to exploration, inspired by his travels across the American South. Moving from Nashville to Los Angeles, he found renewed inspiration in the sights and sounds of his childhood home in Texas, reconnecting with Southern culture and Americana motifs. The album’s overarching theme reflects this journey, juxtaposing Southern nostalgia with the creation of a larger-than-life persona depicted as the beaten-down Rodeo Clown on the album cover.

With tracks like “Heartbreaker” and “Suckerpunch” receiving acclaim from publications like Rolling Stone and Entertainment Tonight, respectively, “Lonestar” is poised to captivate audiences with its blend of gritty rock influences and modern twists. Dreamer Boy’s journey through love and self-discovery resonates throughout the album, offering listeners a glimpse into his personal and artistic evolution.
