In celebration of National Senior Pet Month, Banfield Pet Hospital®—the nation’s leading provider of preventive veterinary care—has teamed up with TV personality and animal advocate Dylan Efron to shine a light on the love and loyalty of senior pets.

Efron, who adopted his senior rescue dog Booey, knows firsthand how rewarding it is to give an older pet a second chance. “Booey still acts like a puppy,” he said. “It pains me to think he might still be waiting for a home if we hadn’t met. I’m thrilled to partner with Banfield to show how much older pets have to offer.”

Together, Banfield and Efron are highlighting adoptable senior dogs and cats across the U.S. To help six deserving animals find families, Banfield will cover their adoption fees and provide each with a Senior Care Optimum Wellness Plan, including a full year of preventive care and diagnostics. In addition, Royal Canin® will provide six months of tailored nutrition to support their health and vitality.

As Dr. Alea Harrison, Banfield’s Chief Medical Officer, notes, “Older pets are sprinkled with a little extra sugar—and we hope this inspires more people to experience the sweetness of adopting a senior companion.”

Because every pet deserves love in their golden years.
