Fans of gritty, survival-driven shooters, take note — PIONER, the highly anticipated action-MMOFPS from GFA Games, is dropping its first playable multiplayer demo during Steam Next Fest, running June 9–16. Set on the eerie, Soviet-era island of Tartarus, PIONER invites players into a vast, 50 km² open world teeming with danger, mystery, and brutal combat.

This post-apocalyptic MMO blends immersive PvE and high-stakes PvP with a refreshing focus on realism. Forget floating health bars and grindy level systems — PIONER leans into atmospheric immersion, tactical decision-making, and player-driven narratives. You’ll take on faction missions, uncover hidden dungeons, and battle through anomaly-ridden zones. For the bold, the PvP-heavy “Shadowlands” offers chaotic, high-reward conflict where survival hinges on skill — or betrayal.

The Steam demo gives players a first taste of PIONER’s dark world, including the full prologue, the main player hub, five unique quests, and even a cooperative Raid. It’s a rare opportunity to dive deep into the mechanics, explore early systems, and get a feel for the game’s bleak, high-tension atmosphere.

GFA Games is aiming for a full PC release later in 2025, with console versions to follow. An extended open beta is also on the horizon this summer, promising more content and community-driven feedback before launch.

A new gameplay trailer is already live on YouTube, offering a glimpse of what to expect: tense firefights, decaying ruins, and a world where every bullet — and every alliance — matters.

Don’t miss your chance to step onto Tartarus Island and experience PIONER before the rest of the world. Add it to your Steam Wishlist, join the demo June 9–16, and prepare for a shooter experience where survival is anything but guaranteed.
