Richmond, Virginia rapper Fly Anakin is back with a new song, “Socks Over The Smoke Detector”, featuring Quelle Chris, $ILKMONEY, and Fatima, ahead of his North American tour starting next week. Anakin’s (The) Forever Dream Tour kicks off November 28 in San Diego with Quelle Chris, Big Kahuna OG, and EWONEE, and wraps December 10 in Atlanta. Special guests include $ILKMONEY, Maxo, Henny L.O., Monday Night, and NoGum Hundo on select dates.
Executive produced by Quelle Chris, Anakin’s second studio album, (The) Forever Dream, showcases a newfound creative freedom. The album blends Anakin’s incisive lyricism with Quelle’s unpredictable production, resulting in some of the rapper’s most experimental tracks to date. Collaborators include Pink Siifu, BbyMutha, The Alchemist, $ILKMONEY, lojii, Nickelus F, Turich Benjy, Demae, and Mutant Academy peers Big Kahuna OG and Sycho Sid.
Over the last decade, Anakin has cemented his place in underground hip-hop, from the breakout FlySiifu’s project with Pink Siifu to his acclaimed 2022 debut Frank, earning recognition across Bandcamp, HipHopDX, OkayPlayer, and more. His experimental mixtapes with Foisey, Skinemaxxx, earned Pitchfork acclaim, naming him “the single best pure rapper in the scene.”
