Fraternal Twin are counting down to the release of Halo Fell Forever, their first album in a decade, arriving September 4—and they’ve just shared one final preview: the haunting title track, “Halo Fell Forever,” alongside an official music video.
The song moves at Fraternal Twin’s signature glacial pace, with riffs chugging patiently beneath Tom Christie’s vocals. In the hazy video, the band performs in slow motion as the track gradually pulls something more raw and real to the surface.
The title is deeply personal for Christie. While recording the demo, he heard the phrase “Halo Fell Forever” emerge from a playback of vocal gibberish. “It almost feels like I didn’t write it,” he says. The lyric brought him back to a formative “fall from innocence”—a period that changed how he saw the world and ultimately taught him to stop chasing perfection for other people.
That sense of patience, upheaval, and hard-won clarity runs through Halo Fell Forever. The album finds Christie joined by Marco Spodek, Mariah Houston, and Forrest Philpot, with songs that stretch slowly from shimmering guitar lines and heavy percussion into moments of crushing distortion and catharsis. It’s music that rewards close listening—and doesn’t rush to hand over its answers.
This summer, Fraternal Twin will take Halo Fell Forever on the road with NYC band Ditch, following years of East Coast shows alongside acts including Girlpool, Palm, Destroyer, Soccer Mommy, Vagabon, and Horse Jumper of Love. Album-release shows are set for New York, Kingston, and Philadelphia next week.
