2K and Gearbox Software have unleashed Bloomreaper the Invincible, the first free raid boss for Borderlands 4—and it’s available now for all players who have finished the campaign. This terrifying new encounter raises the bar for endgame difficulty, offering a brutal test of skill, movement, and build mastery.
After completing the main story, players will find a new mission waiting in each hub zone. Bloomreaper, a rotted parasitic god, calls from deep within a corrupted sinkhole. Its spore-soaked whispers lure adventurers into the abyss, where only the bold (or reckless) dare to descend. Your mission: stop the corruption spreading across Kairos by putting this monstrosity down for good.
The fight unfolds on a misty, open-air plateau encircled by a massive crater. Stone columns stretch upward, forming natural platforms that create a vertical gauntlet of danger. To survive, players must grapple, glide, and dodge across shifting heights while fending off Bloomreaper’s relentless assault.
For those who conquer the challenge—especially in Ultimate Vault Hunter Mode—nine new Legendaries await, including five gear pieces and four Class Mods. The update also bumps the UVHM level cap and arrives alongside the Day 90 patch, which adds True Mode, bug fixes, and various quality-of-life improvements.
Bloomreaper marks just the beginning of Borderlands 4’s post-launch roadmap, setting the tone for more high-intensity content to come.
