Horror doesn’t always scream. Sometimes, it whispers — and KARMA: The Dark World proves just how powerful that can be.

A newly released behind-the-scenes documentary from Wired Productions and Pollard Studio pulls back the curtain on the sound and score of the acclaimed 2025 psychological horror title, spotlighting composer and sound director Geng Li. His work, recently recognized with a WSA nomination, reveals how carefully crafted audio — and deliberate silence — shape the game’s suffocating emotional weight.

Spanning nearly four hours of music, the score was built across continents: a full orchestra recorded in Hungary, percussion captured in Japan, and final mixing completed in the United States. The result is a globally crafted soundscape that mirrors the game’s fractured realities. Intimate character motifs collide with swelling, emotionally charged compositions, amplifying every uneasy step players take.

Inspired by Lynch, Kojima, and Nolan, KARMA casts players as Roam Agent Daniel McGovern, diving into suspect memories that spiral into paranoia and conspiracy. Built in Unreal Engine 5, its visuals impress — but it’s the audio that lingers.

Players can experience it now with a limited-time 45% discount during the Steam Daily Deal — the biggest price drop since launch.
