Screamer is a bold return to arcade racing, blending speed, style, and combat into a neon-drenched spectacle. Developed by Milestone, the game launches on March 26, 2026, across PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store, with early access beginning March 23 for premium editions.

Set in a futuristic, anime-inspired dystopian city, Screamer revolves around an underground tournament where drivers from wildly different backgrounds collide. Soldiers, scientists, criminals, and celebrities all compete, each bringing unique abilities and custom vehicles to the chaos.

Gameplay focuses on fast, accessible racing layered with vehicular combat. The standout feature is the ECHO system, which lets players balance Boost, Strike, and Shield in real time. Mastering this system is key to surviving intense races, especially when Overdrive activates, pushing speed and aggression to extreme levels.

Modes range from traditional races to team-based competitions where takedowns matter just as much as finishing position. Both online multiplayer and split-screen options are included, making it flexible for different playstyles.

Visually, Screamer embraces vibrant neon tracks and strong 90s anime influences, delivering a distinct cyberpunk atmosphere. With over 16 characters, more than 30 tracks, and cinematic anime cutscenes, it promises a chaotic yet refreshing take on combat racing.

Early impressions highlight its energetic pacing and bold identity, though some note the chaos can overwhelm newcomers seeking a more controlled racing experience.
