Chicago’s acclaimed storyteller G Herbo returns with his highly anticipated album Lil Herb, released today via Machine Entertainment Group / Republic Records. The 15-track project is a homecoming, revisiting the hunger, urgency, and perspective that defined his early work while bringing closure to the era of his “Lil Herb” persona.
Accompanying the album is the cinematic video for “Emergency,” a powerful reimagining of Wyclef Jean’s “911.” Clef joins Herbo with a rare verse, heightening the track’s gravity. Directed by LVTRKevin, the stark, shadow-heavy visuals reflect the tension, grief, and survival instincts of the Windy City, highlighting the realities of growing up fast.
Lil Herb also features the lead single “Reason” (produced by Don Cannon) and “Whatever U Want” featuring Jeremih, showcasing Herbo’s duality: unflinching and reflective. Anderson .Paak appears on “Thank Me,” and “Fallen Soldiers” honors those lost along the way, grounding the album in personal reflection.
Recorded largely in Chicago with trusted producers Chase Davis, OzOnTheTrack, C-Sick, Don Cannon, Southside, and Smatt Sertified, Lil Herb is both a time capsule and a bold step forward. Following his sold-out 1st Annual Birthday Bash at Wintrust Arena, Herbo solidifies his influence as he steps confidently into this new chapter.
