GloRilla is proving once again that she’s in a league of her own. The Grammy-nominated rapper and CMG standout has just dropped a cinematic visual for her latest track “Typa,” and it’s nothing short of iconic. Directed by veteran hitmaker Benny Boom, the video merges street romance with emotional storytelling—bringing together R&B legend Keyshia Cole and rising NFL star Xavier Legette for a bold, modern take on loyalty and love.
At the heart of “Typa” is a clever sample of Keyshia Cole’s 2005 classic “Love,” which provides the soulful backbone for GloRilla’s sharp bars. As she spits verses about being the “ride-or-die typa girl,” the video paints the story: Xavier Legette plays her unwavering partner, seen counting money, cuddling up, and ultimately bailing her out after an arrest shakes up their world. The chemistry is raw, real, and riveting.
Meanwhile, Keyshia Cole steps into a mentor role, appearing throughout the video as a grounding force—offering tough love and heartfelt wisdom to GloRilla in scenes that nod to sisterhood and emotional growth. The combination of Glo’s raw energy, Cole’s soulful gravitas, and Legette’s breakout screen presence creates a dynamic trio that carries the story from start to finish.
“Typa” arrives on the heels of GloRilla’s high-octane 2025. She’s been lighting up the industry with features on Lil Baby’s “Red Bone,” Teddy Swims’ “She Got It,” and GELO’s “Can You Please.” Her debut album GLORIOUS made a major splash in 2024, peaking at No. 5 on the Billboard 200. With tracks like “TGIF,” “WHATCHU KNO ABOUT ME” featuring Sexyy Red, and “I LUV HER” with T-Pain, the project became the best-selling female rap album of the year—cementing her spot at the top of the genre.
GloRilla hasn’t slowed down since. She’s still climbing the charts with “Yeah Glo!” and “Wanna Be” featuring Megan Thee Stallion, and made waves as part of Tyler, The Creator’s Top 10 hit “Sticky.”
With a 21-city headlining tour under her belt and show-stopping sets at Coachella and Dreamville Fest, Glo is heading into a busy summer. She’ll hit the stage at the 2025 BET Awards on June 9, tear it up at Hot 97’s Summer Jam on June 20, and take over ESSENCE Festival in July—just ahead of launching her own Glo Bash in Memphis.
Earlier this year, she took home the Powerhouse Award at Billboard’s Women in Music gala, and “Typa” is yet another reminder why. GloRilla isn’t just delivering hits—she’s crafting moments, building legacy, and proving that when it comes to authenticity and artistry, she’s the typa artist we’ll be talking about for years to come.
