Godsmack are giving fans one of the live moments they’ve been asking for for years with the official release of “Battle of the Drums” from the new live album Live at Mohegan Sun. The performance captures the intense onstage chemistry between frontman Sully Erna and drummer Shannon Larkin in a high-energy percussion showdown that has become a staple of the band’s concerts.
Originally evolving from the band’s early live shows in the 1990s, “Battle of the Drums” has grown into one of Godsmack’s signature performances, complete with massive drum kits, synchronized rhythms, and nonstop energy. Fans have long considered it a highlight of every show, making its official live release even more exciting.
The video arrives as Godsmack kick off their Rise of Rock World Tour 2026 alongside Stone Temple Pilots and Dorothy on select dates. The band is also set for appearances at major festivals including Welcome to Rockville, Sonic Temple, and Rocklahoma.
With more than 20 million albums sold and a catalog packed with rock radio hits, Live at Mohegan Sun serves as both a celebration of Godsmack’s legacy and a powerful reminder that the band is still going strong.
