Gorgon City’s fifth album, Reverie, is out now via REALM/Astralwerks. Fans also get to hear the duos new single, the vocal-led, emotive yet highly danceable “How Do You Love” featuring Mougleta.
The eagerly anticipated dancefloor-focused LP is a riotous return to the rave, seeing the UK duo delve deeper into bold underground house and techno sounds. Brimming with 11 tracks fit for the darkest dancefloors, Reverie offers up mammoth moments like spine-tingling single “Biggest Regret” ft. Bbyafricka, the catchy “You Know It,” their driving piano house anthem “All That You Need” ft. Caroline Byrne, the awe-inspiring sonic instrumental delight, “One New Change” and “Breathe You In: featuring NORTH – an ethereal track with a sting in its tail.
“We wanted to come back with a club-focused album and once we got asked to headline the Yuma tent at Coachella it was a perfect catalyst to get it done for that show and environment,” explain Gorgon City. “It came together quite quickly, and we loved the reactions we got to the tracks in our DJ sets. We’re really proud of all the tunes on it and can’t wait to release it as a whole project!”
“How Do You Love” is the final single to be released with the album, showcasing the seductive vocals of Dubai-born Canadian singer-songwriter Mougleta. Real name Yasmeen Semaan, her tracks, such as the moombahton body mover, “Bye Bye,” produced by Dario Rodriguez, and the trance-y “The Night” with Anthony Keyrouz, have topped German radio airplay charts and made her one of the most exciting new voices in dance music.
Gorgon City, made up of Kye Gibbon and Matt Robson-Scott have skyrocketed from their fledgling underground newcomer status 12 years ago to certified UK dance music heroes. They boast 10 BRIT-certified singles including one Platinum and two Gold, and over one and a half billion collective streams. While staying true to their underground roots, they racked up over 130M streams alone for their 2014 hit “Ready For Your Love” featuring MNEK, which peaked at #4 in the UK Singles Chart, staying in it for 22 weeks.
