London-based, Australian-born producer and DJ HAAi (Teneil Throssell) has shared “Satellite,” the radiant new single from her upcoming album HUMANiSE, due October 10, 2025, via Mute. The track is a luminous blend of glitch-pop, 2-step, and ’90s rave energy, featuring contributions from Jon Hopkins, vocals by Obi Franky, the TRANS VOICES choir, and choir leader ILĀ.
With “Satellite,” HAAi offers a soaring tribute to connection and community. The track’s layered vocals and atmospheric textures reflect the album’s overarching theme: reclaiming human connection in an increasingly digitized world. “Satellite encapsulates everything HUMANiSE stands for,” HAAi explains. “The importance of your people and the unique humaneness we offer one another in a rapidly changing world.”
Obi Franky brings heartfelt depth to the track, sharing that her lyrics were inspired by the passing of her father. “We are all satellites,” she says, “able to create unity from afar, to transmit love—what humans ultimately seek.”
The album HUMANiSE marks a creative leap from HAAi’s 2022 debut, Baby, We’re Ascending, and reflects her evolution as an artist. The new record places vocals—hers and others—front and center, exploring vulnerability, strength, and unity. “It took a long time to get there,” she admits. “But for this album, it was important for me to allow this ‘human heart’ to be front and center.”
HAAi’s work continues to push the boundaries of electronic music. Recent releases include “Can’t Stand to Lose,” reworked with Tom VR and showcased during Women’s History Month, and the fierce “Shapeshift” with KAM-BU. She’s also launched UNiSON, her London-based night spotlighting community and emerging talent.
HUMANiSE is a collective statement, drawing in collaborators like Jon Hopkins, Alexis Taylor, poet James Massiah, and gospel leader Wendi Rose. But it’s more than a guest list—HAAi builds sonic worlds where listeners are welcomed in, reminded that music can still unite, still uplift.
Visuals for “Satellite” come courtesy of Dobermann Ltd, who’ve worked with HAAi across the album’s artwork. Their dreamlike renderings add another layer to the emotional and futuristic aesthetic that defines this project.
Available as a limited edition clear double vinyl and eco-packaged CD, HUMANiSE lands October 10, 2025. With “Satellite” leading the way, it promises to be one of HAAi’s most ambitious and human releases yet—a love letter to chosen family, queer joy, and the power of being seen.
