HBO Max has officially unveiled the first teaser for “Stuart Fails to Save the Universe,” a brand-new comedy series set in the world of “The Big Bang Theory.” Announced during the Warner Bros. Discovery Upfront presentation in New York, the highly anticipated ten-episode series premieres July 23 at 9:00 p.m. ET on HBO Max, with new episodes arriving weekly on Thursdays.
The series follows comic book store owner Stuart Bloom as he accidentally triggers a multiverse disaster after breaking a device created by Sheldon and Leonard. Forced to repair reality before total collapse, Stuart teams up with his girlfriend Denise, geologist Bert, and eccentric physicist Barry Kripke for a chaotic adventure across alternate universes.
Kevin Sussman reprises his fan-favorite role as Stuart alongside Lauren Lapkus, Brian Posehn, and John Ross Bowie. The comedy promises plenty of sci-fi humor, unexpected twists, and appearances from alternate-universe versions of beloved “Big Bang Theory” characters.
Created by television powerhouse Chuck Lorre alongside Zak Penn and Bill Prady, the series combines classic sitcom energy with multiverse storytelling that has become increasingly popular among streaming audiences.
With nostalgia, comedy, and science-fiction chaos all packed together, “Stuart Fails to Save the Universe” could become HBO Max’s next breakout comedy hit of 2026 for longtime sitcom fans everywhere.
