Kyiv-based indie developer Twigames has launched a Kickstarter campaign for Hollow Home, its upcoming narrative survival RPG inspired by the early days of Russia’s 2022 invasion of Ukraine.
The campaign is live now and runs for 20 days, ending on August 24, with a funding goal of $15,000. Rather than securing the game’s future, the campaign is aimed at funding extra content and polish as the team heads toward its planned late 2026 release.
Hollow Home follows 14-year-old Maksym as he struggles to survive in a city under siege. With no combat, the isometric RPG focuses on dialogue, resource management, and difficult choices, with every decision shaping the story and leading to multiple possible endings.
The project carries particular weight given the circumstances of its creators. Twigames has continued developing the game from Kyiv throughout the ongoing war, with the idea for Hollow Home taking shape in 2022 after the team’s evacuation to the Carpathian Mountains.
“We started making Hollow Home in 2022, when our team was evacuated to a small village in the Carpathian Mountains. We’ve been building it ever since and are finally close to release,” said Twigames founder Valerii Minenko. “We want players to experience what survival looks like for ordinary people when a war arrives in their city.”
Players will need to scavenge, craft, cook, manage morale, and develop Maksym’s skills while navigating a city that changes over time based on both player decisions and historical events. Entire districts can become inaccessible, creating new challenges and opportunities as the story unfolds.

The game has already attracted attention on the indie circuit, winning multiple awards including Best Conference Game and Game Star at Games Gathering 2024, the Nordic Game 2024 Pitch Battle, and both Most Promising Game and Critics’ Choice at Indie Cup Ukraine 2023.
Hollow Home is scheduled to launch in late 2026 for PC via Steam and the Microsoft Store, as well as Xbox Series X|S. A playable demo is already available on Steam for those eager to experience the game’s emotionally driven approach to survival before release.
