HoYoverse has officially announced that Honkai: Star Rail Version 3.5, titled “Before Their Deaths,” will launch on August 13, 2025. This highly anticipated update dives into the second half of the Amphorean storyline, bringing with it pivotal plot developments, formidable new characters, and immersive events that promise to shake up the universe.
Following the Trailblazer’s promise to Phainon and the fierce stand against Nanook, the journey presses forward to Amphoreus. In the new Trailblaze Mission, players will accompany Cyrene through another Eternal Recurrence, traveling back a millennium to ancient Okhema. Here, the legacy of Imperator Cerydra—Aglaea’s predecessor and ruler of Okhema—comes to light as the Amphorean past begins to reshape the present.
Two new 5-star characters take center stage in this update.
Hysilens, a Physical-Type Nihility Path character and commander of the holy city’s knights, thrives in DoT-based teams. Her abilities weaken enemies’ ATK and DEF, create a special Zone amplifying DoT effects, and inflict random debuffs to maximize damage output. Her synergy with DoT specialists makes her a tactical powerhouse.
Joining her is Imperator Cerydra, a Wind-Type Harmony Path unit and a master of strategy. Her “Military Merit” buff empowers allies, scaling throughout battle to enhance CRIT DMG and RES PEN. She can even replicate an ally’s Skill, adding a layer of chess-like precision to team strategy. Her Ultimate deals AoE damage and builds Charge for long-term support.
Fan-favorites Kafka and Silver Wolf return as limited 5-star banners during the update’s warp events. Their potent synergy and support potential make them prized additions for any roster.
Version 3.5 also unveils a brand-new region—Styxia: City of Infinite Revelry—with dazzling aesthetics and a climactic showdown against the dual-formed enemy, Lygus. As players unravel his secrets, the stakes of the Amphorean story rise dramatically.

In “Chrysos Maze Grand Restaurant,” players manage a magical eatery, serving whimsical guests and upgrading the venue.
Meanwhile, “Old Brews & New Friends” lets players mix drinks and reconnect with beloved characters in heartfelt moments behind the Dreamjolt Hostelry’s counter.
Finally, a new voice toggle feature will allow players to switch between in-game dubs and original licensed voices for collaboration characters—deepening immersion for fans across languages.
