Ice Spice makes a triumphant return with “Gimmie A Light” — the debut single from her highly anticipated first album, Y2K, set to drop later this year via 10K Projects/Capitol Records. You can stream/download “Gimmie A Light” here and catch the video here.

Produced by Ice Spice’s longtime collaborator RiotUSA — known for their work on hits like her gold-certified breakout “Munch (Feelin U)” — “Gimmie A Light” features a sample from Sean Paul’s 2002 classic “Gimme the Light.” With the same magnetic charisma that propelled her from the New York drill scene to icon status, Ice Spice delivers a two-minute anthem showcasing her sharp lyrics, rapid flow, and commanding vocals. The result is a high-energy track packed with infectious beats and catchy hooks.

For the “Gimmie A Light” video, Ice Spice reunites with fellow NYC natives The Evil Twins (George and Frederick Buford), who directed past hits like “Deli” and “Boy’s a liar Pt. 2” (her platinum-certified collab with PinkPantheress). Blending fantasy with hyperreality, the video places Ice Spice in a series of glamorous scenes: from sipping Patrón El Alto on the dancefloor to flaunting cash in her J’adore Dior baby tee and twerking in a hot-pink Range Rover cruising through the city streets.

Ice Spice previewed “Gimmie A Light” with a show-stopping performance at Coachella last month, earning praise from UPROXX, who predicted she could headline the festival in the near future.

Y2K, dropping later this year, is one of the most anticipated albums of 2024. Named after her birth year (January 1, 2000), Ice Spice’s debut LP will feature recent hits like “Think U The Shit (Fart).” Following her acclaimed 2023 EP “Like..?”, which landed on best-of-the-year lists from Pitchfork, Rolling Stone, The New York Times, and more, Y2K promises to solidify Ice Spice’s position as a rising star in the music industry.
