Jessie Ware has released the official video for her long-awaited single “Ride,” featuring a striking performance from actor James Norton.

Directed by Thomas James, the video unfolds in a dreamlike Western setting—an elegant yet untamed world staged around a cinematic stable backdrop. The visual expands the universe of Ware’s upcoming album Superbloom, blending tension, glamour, and playful power dynamics into a glossy, stylized experience.

Ware shared that Norton, a friend and longtime supporter, joined the project after hearing the song during a performance by Jack Peñate, who also helped create the track. Despite freezing February temperatures during filming, Ware joked that by mid-morning she was already “licking his ear,” crediting the actor’s professionalism for making the shoot effortless. The video was shot entirely on film, adding to its rich cinematic feel.

Musically, “Ride” carries a hypnotic groove that subtly echoes the iconic theme from The Good, the Bad and the Ugly by Ennio Morricone. Fans first heard the track during Ware’s 2024 performance at Glastonbury Festival.

“Ride” appears on Ware’s forthcoming album Superbloom, arriving April 10 via Interscope Records.
