Corporate loyalty has a price, and in KARŌSHI, that price is deadly.
The official trailer for KARŌSHI offers a first look at a stylish, hard-hitting action thriller set in a near-future Manhattan where corporate culture and traditional values have created a dangerous new order. When a worker dies under mysterious circumstances, an outsider infiltrates a powerful company and begins uncovering the violent machinery operating behind its polished image.
Produced by Chad Stahelski, the filmmaker behind the John Wick franchise, KARŌSHI brings some serious action credentials to the table. Takashi Doscher ( Still ) writes and directs, with Teo Yoo, Isabel May, Takehiro Hira, Bill Camp, and Show Kasamatsu leading the cast. Giancarlo Esposito and Cynthia Erivo also appear.
The title itself carries some weight. Karōshi is a Japanese term meaning death from overwork, making the film’s corporate setting and themes of workplace exploitation particularly fitting. Expect a collision of corporate intrigue, cultural tension, and explosive action.
KARŌSHI arrives in theaters February 5, 2027. Your orientation begins now.
