2K and Hangar 13 have officially unveiled Mafia: The Old Country, the latest addition to the beloved action-adventure franchise. Set to launch in 2025 during Take-Two’s Fiscal Year 2026, the game will be available on PlayStation®5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam. Gamers can already add it to their wishlists, with more details set to be revealed in December 2024.
Accompanied by a captivating teaser trailer, Mafia: The Old Country promises to dive deep into the origins of organized crime, focusing on a gritty, mob-driven narrative set in the perilous world of 1900s Sicily. The game will immerse players in an era where survival is anything but guaranteed, bringing the brutal reality of that time to life with the franchise’s trademark realism and rich storytelling.
“Throughout the first three games, we introduced players to the world of the Mafia through brutal stories set in different eras,” said Nick Baynes, President of Hangar 13. “With Mafia: The Old Country, we’re returning to the roots of what our fans love—delivering a deep, linear narrative with that classic mob movie vibe, set in a stunning new location. We’re focused on crafting an immersive experience that will resonate with both long-time fans and newcomers.”
The Mafia franchise, first launched in 2002, has sold over 34 million copies worldwide. It has consistently earned praise for its compelling narratives, strong performances, and meticulous attention to detail in its period settings. Mafia: The Old Country looks set to continue this tradition, offering a fresh yet familiar experience for fans of the series.
Additionally, it’s a perfect time to revisit the critically-acclaimed Mafia franchise, as all released games are on sale on Steam until September 2.*
