Marvel Rivals is kicking off the summer in a big way.
Launching June 12, Season 8.5: SINS OF ALCHEMAX brings one of Marvel’s most iconic heroes to the battlefield: Cyclops. The legendary X-Men leader joins the roster as a Duelist, wielding devastating optic blasts that can ricochet off surfaces, shred enemy defenses, and even propel him around the map. His Ultimate? An all-out optic beam barrage capable of clearing everything in its path.
But Cyclops isn’t the only headline. Season 8.5 also introduces Bounty Annihilation, a chaotic new 18v18 game mode, alongside a brand-new battleground, K’un-Lun: Shenloong Arena.
The summer celebration continues on June 18 with the Marvel Rivals Summer Festival, featuring rewards worth up to 2,500 Units, new Swimsuit Special costumes, and the debut of Hellfire Bay Beach, a social hub where players can relax, snap photos, and hang out with friends between matches.
Meanwhile, competitive players have another reason to celebrate. Marvel Rivals is launching a new third-party tournament program, allowing community organizers, creators, and esports groups to host their own events with official support through a tiered framework.
Between a fan-favorite hero, a huge new mode, summer-themed content, and expanded esports opportunities, Season 8.5 looks set to be one of Marvel Rivals’ biggest updates yet.
