City of God: The Fight Rages On is an adapted continuation of Paulo Lins’ literary work, centering on the characters and the narrative established by the photographer Buscapé. The story unfolds in the early 2000s, focusing on the turmoil that ensues when a young drug dealer is released from prison, igniting fresh conflict in Cidade de Deus. The residents find themselves caught between drug traffickers, militias, and public authorities. Amidst the chaos, the community bands together to resist oppression and break free from this vicious cycle.

The series will feature flashbacks, incorporating scenes from the original film to rekindle memories and emotional connections with the protagonists. Fans can look forward to the return of beloved characters alongside new faces. The cast boasts prominent names such as Alexandre Rodrigues, Roberta Rodrigues, Thiago Martins, Sabrina Rosa, Kiko Marques, Edson Oliveira, Andréia Horta, Marcos Palmeira, Eli Ferreira, Luellem de Castro, Jefferson Brasil, Otávio Linhares, Rafael Lozano, Leandro Daniel, and Luiz Bertazzo. Additionally, the series will introduce emerging talents from Rio de Janeiro’s communities, including Cidade de Deus, Vidigal, and Mangueira.
