Next Friday, November 7, marks the release of A Bridge To Far, the eagerly awaited sixth studio album from Midlake. Already celebrated by MOJO, Uncut, and PROG, the record captures the Texas band at their most expansive and heartfelt.
The latest single, “Eyes Full of Animal,” a groove-based psychedelic gem, arrives today as the final preview before the album’s release. It follows “The Calling” and “Days Gone By”—the latter accompanied by a stunning video directed by Taylor McFadden, produced by Lavinia Jones Wright, and starring Emmy nominee James Lance (Ted Lasso).
Recorded at The Echo Lab in Denton with producer Sam Evian, A Bridge To Far balances atmosphere and intimacy. Themes of hope, humility, and endurance thread through tracks like “The Calling” and “Guardians” (featuring Madison Cunningham). As frontman Eric Pulido reflects, “Hope is a need—to look beyond, above what is.”
Two decades on, Midlake remain masters of quiet transcendence, crafting music that feels timeless, tender, and beautifully human.
