20-year-old artist midwxst has exciting news for his fans as he announces the release date for his major label debut album, E3, set to drop on September 1st via Geffen Records. A co-executive produced album by midwxst and Sophie Gray, the project revolves around a character named E3, with midwxst narrating the story. The album serves as a reflection of his recent internal challenges, highlighting his profound growth and maturity. Alongside the release date, he treats us to the album’s tracklist, artwork, and the second song, “warning,” accompanied by a visually stunning video directed by Ari Nissenbaum. This vibrant track follows the lead single “pretty girls” and his earlier single “Tally,” featuring South Florida Sensei Denzel Curry.

E3 promises to be midwxst’s most immersive and conceptual experience to date. Having dedicated himself to an organic writing process in a Los Angeles studio, his latest project aims to guide listeners through relationships, identity formation, and the internet’s complexities. Collaborating with industry veterans and session musicians, the album creates a sonic landscape akin to a “fairytale gone wrong,” where midwxst opens up about his personal experiences. He shares, “I just want people to understand that I went through a lot of the shit I am expressing on this album. And yeah, I went through it, and yeah, it hurt, but it made me grow and become who I am today. And I wouldn’t trade any of that pain or any of that loss for anything.” In contrast to his previous brash breakup album, better luck next time, E3 intricately paints the various forms and evolutions of love.

This Indiana-born artist has been consistently delivering new music since bursting onto the scene in 2020. Last year alone, he released two EPs, including BACK IN ACTION 3.0 EP with the standout track “223’s” featuring BabyTron, and his EP better luck next time., along with standalone singles like “mad,” “slide den,” and “sidelines.” Additionally, midwxst embarked on his first national tour, taking his music to venues across the country and collaborating with some of music’s brightest young talents, including Yeat, Dro Kenji, KA$HDAMI, and more.

Be sure to check out “warning” and get ready for the release of E3. More exciting things are on the way from midwxst, so stay tuned for updates.
