Vevo releaseaMisterWives’ Live Performance of their song “Other Side” from their 2023 album Nosebleeds, now featuring Charlotte Sands. The new version, out today (June 7) is a featured single from the band’s new album, Nosebleeds: Encore, due out June 28. Vevo and MisterWives have a long history of working together, releasing a DSCVR performance of “Reflections” in 2014 and LIFT Live performances of “Reflections,” “Our Own House,” “Not Your Way,” “Oceans” and “Best I Can Do” in 2015.

MisterWives emerged out of New York City in the mid-2010s with a fizzing indie pop sound that veered from quirky synth-driven dance pop to lush indie folk and various points beyond. The platinum-certified New York City/Los Angeles-based quintet—Mandy Lee [vocals], Etienne Bowler [drums, production], Marc Campbell [guitar], Mike Murphy [keyboards], and William Hehir [bass]—absorb life’s ups and downs and recalibrate them in the form of snappy alternative rock anthems underlined by unexpectedly hip-shaking rhythms and identifiable tattoo-worthy lyrics.  Their infectious 2014 single “Reflections” put them on the map, and they went on to notch two Billboard-charting albums, Our Own House in 2015 and Connect The Dots in 2017, before releasing SUPERBLOOM in 2020.

In 2023, MisterWives released their fourth album, Nosebleeds, and showcased an edgier, post-punk sound. The phenomenon of a nosebleed occurs at the lowest of low moments or the highest of high moments, and MisterWives examine both ends of this spectrum in their music. “For me, this band is absolute self-expression,” Mandy explains, “I think it translates to the amazing people who support our music. Whether you’re at your happiest or saddest or somewhere in the middle, the show will always be a safe and celebratory space to be your authentic self and a reminder that you’re not alone.”

Charlotte Sands isn’t afraid to speak or play loud, which makes her the perfect featured artist for “Other Side.” Raised on the pop-punk bands of the early 2000s and rooted in the storytelling of folk singer/songwriters, Sands combines upbeat melodies with unabashedly honest, self-reflective lyrics. An unstoppable force for self-expression, the electric blue-haired singer-songwriter’s personal mission is to “create a safe space for people to feel accepted and celebrated for their weirdness and diversity.”
