Monster Rally steps into a sun-soaked fantasy on his latest single, “Flight to Capri,” a lush reimagining of Henry Mancini’s iconic 1961 composition “Lujon.” Best known for scoring classics like The Pink Panther, Mancini’s influence looms large over the track, which channels the glamour of a 1960s tropical spy film—martinis, speedboats, and opening credits rolling against a Mediterranean skyline.

“Lujon” has echoed through pop culture for decades, appearing in The Big Lebowski and sampled by artists like Tyler, The Creator. For Monster Rally, flipping the standard was personal. A lifelong Mancini admirer, he calls working with “Lujon” a dream, aiming to craft something “familiar but unexpected.” His instrumentation wraps around the original’s sweeping strings, steering it into a fresh cinematic direction.

The single previews Echoes of the Emerald Sands, out March 27 via Flowering Jungle. Marking his tenth full-length, the album is his first to feature vocal collaborators—including TV Girl, Jordana, and Miles Michaud (Allah-Las)—and the first recorded entirely from scratch in his Cleveland studio.

After wrapping a nearly sold-out West Coast tour with RUMTUM, Monster Rally proves once again he’s never content to stay in one creative lane.
