The afternoon slump is a universal struggle. That post-lunch dip in energy hits millions of Americans around 3PM, and Peet’s Coffee has a creative new solution: coffee, music, and a dream summer trip.

The iconic coffee brand has launched a nationwide search for its first-ever Chief Playlist Officer, an honorary role designed to help people power through the workday’s toughest hours. The contest coincides with the national rollout of Middle Ground, Peet’s new Half-Caff blend that delivers balanced energy with less caffeine.

Applicants are invited to submit their ultimate “Middle Ground Mix” playlist—a collection of songs designed to boost focus, motivation, and momentum when energy levels begin to fade. Along with the playlist, entrants must explain why they deserve the title and share the one song that always gets them moving.

Peet’s Coffee Wants to Cure Your 3PM Slump—And It Might Send You to Chicago

One lucky winner will earn the title of Chief Playlist Officer, have their playlist featured in Peet’s coffeebars nationwide, and receive an all-expenses-paid trip for two to Chicago to experience four days of live music from some of the summer’s biggest artists.

The campaign arrives alongside Peet’s new summer menu, featuring Sparkling Energy Drinks and Protein Oat Lattes, giving customers more ways to recharge throughout the day.

Applications are open through June 30 at peetscpo.com.
