Nashville’s Saycouth is back to stir things up. The indie pop/soul outfit premieres latest single, “Heartbreaker,” delivering another dose of the band’s irresistible mix of jazz, dance, and soul. The new track follows August’s “Where Do We Go” and keeps the momentum rolling as Saycouth continues to carve out its own corner of Nashville’s music scene.

Led by vocalist Mikayla DeBassio, Saycouth thrives on contrast: deep grooves meet lush soundscapes, while story-driven lyrics bring a little drama to the dance floor. It’s a sound with plenty of soul and movement, built around songs that have something to say without losing sight of the beat.

The new single also gets a visual companion with a lyric video directed by Jason Stoltzfus, a Nashville-based multidisciplinary artist.

Saycouth spent 2025 building momentum with three singles and videos while bringing its charismatic live performances to Nashville stages. The band also shared the stage with house and soul DJs Soulsixnine and Erica Schultz of WNXP’s The Brunch.

In 2026, Saycouth headed to Wild Feather Recordings to develop a new collection of songs with producer Zach Kasik. The first release from those sessions, “Where Do We Go,” arrived August 7, introducing a track that works as both a dangerous love song and an allegory for the times, complete with a decidedly Shakespearean twist.

Now, Saycouth is ready to celebrate its latest release in person. The band will host a “Heartbreaker” release show at Living Waters Brewing in Nashville on Wednesday, October 21.
