Amazon MGM Studios has offered audiences a first look at its highly anticipated comedy film You’re Cordially Invited with the release of an official trailer and poster. The film is set to premiere on Prime Video on January 30, 2025.
The plot centers on an unusual predicament: two weddings are mistakenly scheduled for the same day at the same venue. What ensues is a comedic clash as both bridal parties vie to preserve their cherished moments while sharing limited space. At the heart of this uproarious tale is a battle of wills between the father of one bride, played by Will Ferrell, and the sister of the other, portrayed by Reese Witherspoon. Their chaotic efforts to orchestrate the perfect day for their families promise a spectacle of hilarity and heart.
Joining Ferrell and Witherspoon is an ensemble cast featuring Geraldine Viswanathan, Meredith Hagner, Jimmy Tatro, Stony Blyden, Leanne Morgan, Rory Scovel, Keyla Monterroso Mejia, Ramona Young, Jack McBrayer, and Celia Weston.
The film runs for 109 minutes and carries an R rating from the MPA due to pervasive language and some sexual references. Production kicked off in Atlanta in May 2023, bringing to life a script penned and directed by Nicholas Stoller.
Stoller, a seasoned filmmaker known for comedies like Forgetting Sarah Marshall (2008), Neighbors (2014), and Bros (2022), also serves as producer alongside Conor Welch, Lauren Neustadter, Ferrell, and Jessica Elbaum. The executive production team includes Alex Brown, Brendan O’Brien, and Ted Gidlow.
With its sharp wit, star-studded cast, and a story brimming with humor and heart, You’re Cordially Invited looks poised to make a memorable splash when it debuts early next year.
