PUBG: BATTLEGROUNDS just dropped Update 40.1, and it’s basically a seasonal glow-up with extra explosions. PC players are already in, with console landing February 12.
First up: Erangel is out of its icy Subzero era and back in action with meaningful map changes. Destructible Gas Tanks are now scattered around, adding spicy new combat moments (yes, things go boom). Secret Rooms got upgraded loot too, including the All-In-One Repair Kit, Emergency Cover Flare, and Jammer Pack. On top of that, improved interior lighting makes clearing buildings less of a “who’s hiding in the dark?” gamble.
Spring Fest 2026 also returns, bringing colorful chaos after winter. This year’s theme centers on four experimental survivors called the Transcendents. Players can dive into a new Crafter Pass, unlock Progressive Weapon Skins and Chromas, grab Special Crafting items, and even earn a Custom Lobby through a collection mission.
Gameplay clarity gets love as well. A new Throwable inventory display, sharper squad status indicators, and clearer Blue Zone visuals on the minimap help teams react faster and coordinate smarter.
Finally, the new PUBG Bridge website lets you watch 2D match replays in your browser. Link your KRAFTON ID, review history, and analyze plays anytime.
