KRAFTON is giving PUBG: BATTLEGROUNDS players more ways to fight—and more ways to play—with Update 42.3.
The headline addition is the RPD, a fully automatic 7.62mm light machine gun that lands 43 damage per shot and fires at 750 rounds per minute. It’s available across all maps, supports scopes up to 6x, and can take magazines and stocks.
The RPD arrives alongside a broader LMG shake-up. Reload times across the class are down 25%, while recoil has been reworked to make sustained fire feel steadier. Maximum horizontal recoil variance has also been reduced by about 30%. There’s a catch for drive-by gunners, though: firing from a moving vehicle now brings increased bullet spread and recoil based on speed.
The other big addition is PUBG: Playgrounds, a new PC creative hub built around community-made game modes. Instead of hunting down custom experiences through external sites or setting up matches manually, players can browse featured modes and jump into recommended games directly from the PUBG Play menu.
KRAFTON says new creations will be added regularly through developer curation and official contests. That includes 30 winning entries from its global creative-mode contest with CurseForge, announced August 5.
Update 42.3 also brings a cleaner team-selection interface, a revamped results screen and updated device icons. And for those looking for something to do during server maintenance, the PC-exclusive POBG minigame lets players chase high scores and resume sessions after maintenance ends.
Bottom line: Update 42.3 isn’t just about adding another gun. It’s a broader push to make LMGs more versatile while turning PUBG into a more accessible platform for community-created chaos.
