Red Barrels has dropped a chilling new update for The Outlast Trials, introducing Invasion Experimental Therapy—a permanent PvP mode that twists the game’s psychological horror into a deadly showdown between players.
In Invasion Mode, Reagents can now face off against real players acting as Imposters, invading Trials through Sleep Room Terminals. Armed only with a knife, Imposters must hunt down Reagents using stealth and strategy, dealing quick slashes or charging devastating stabs for instant kills. Fail to return before time runs out, and face electrifying consequences. Imposters can see Reagents’ noise disturbances, are immune to psychosis gas, and earn points for damage, kills, and survival.
The update also debuts two new MK-Challenges—Beguile the Children and Investigate the Minotaur—testing players’ wits and nerves. Alongside them, the limited-time Program Geister event returns, offering eerie Variators, hidden player names, enraged enemies, and exclusive cosmetics via the Geister Catalog, available until November 18.
A new in-game store and Twitch Drops round out the Halloween season, letting players earn themed rewards while watching their favorite streamers.
