After a 17-year hiatus from the road, Shudder to Think has roared back to life — and with it, their first new music in almost thirty years. The band kicked off their long-awaited reunion tour with packed shows in Boston, Washington, DC, and New York City before heading west for a final sold-out stop in Los Angeles on November 11.

Today, the post-hardcore art rock legends unveil “Thirst Walk” and “Playback,” two new tracks that capture their signature blend of melody, tension, and fearless experimentation. Written as the band revisited their back catalog and rediscovered their chemistry, both songs were recorded in frontman Craig Wedren’s backyard studio, Pink Ape Studios, keeping the process “playful and raw-ish.”

“These songs feel very much like Shudder to Think,” says Wedren. “What you hear is us, together, hard at play.”

The release follows last year’s 30th anniversary celebration of their 1994 landmark, Pony Express Record, hailed by Pitchfork as “one of the strangest, most exhilarating products of the post-Nevermind era.”

Featuring Wedren, Nathan Larson, Adam Wade, Clint Walsh, and Jherek Bischoff, Shudder to Think’s return isn’t just nostalgic—it’s a thrilling reminder of a band still charging triumphantly into the unknown.
