Genre-defying duo SOFI TUKKER are back with one of their most unexpected and electrifying collaborations yet. Today, they unleash “Bodies Hit the Floor,” a high-voltage re-imagining of Drowning Pool’s iconic mosh pit anthem “Bodies.” Out now via Craft Recordings, the track fuses the raw energy of metal with the pulsating beats of dance music—proving once again that SOFI TUKKER doesn’t play by anyone’s rules.
Comprised of Sophie Hawley-Weld and Tucker Halpern, SOFI TUKKER are fresh off massive performances at Tomorrowland and Lollapalooza Berlin. Known for their global sound and infectious DJ sets, the GRAMMY-nominated pair now add a heavier edge to their live arsenal with this surprising collaboration.
“This is one of the coolest collabs we’ve done,” the duo shares. “It started as a fun idea for our sets, and quickly became a full-blown dancefloor weapon. Whether we’re playing to thousands in a field or at a tiny house party, this song brings out a primal excitement in people.”
Drowning Pool guitarist CJ Pierce was equally enthusiastic: “It’s absolutely badass what SOFI TUKKER did with their re-imagining of ‘Bodies!’ I’m all about the buildups and those sick breakdowns. Can’t wait to catch it live.”
“Bodies Hit the Floor” has already become a highlight of SOFI TUKKER’s shows, inciting wild crowd reactions wherever it’s dropped. The track’s mix of high-octane metal riffs and club-ready drops creates a perfect storm of chaos and catharsis.
The release follows the duo’s latest album butter, a jazz-soaked companion to their acclaimed 2024 record BREAD, celebrating their love of Brazilian rhythms and culture.
Fans can catch a special Butter set at the legendary Newport Jazz Festival on August 1st.
