Horror fans, prepare yourselves. From New Line Cinema and the twisted mind of Zach Cregger—the writer-director behind the sleeper hit Barbarian—comes a new nightmare: Weapons. This upcoming horror/thriller promises to dive even deeper into psychological terror, blending mystery, dread, and a hauntingly original premise.

The story begins with an unthinkable event: all but one child from a single school class mysteriously vanish on the same night, at exactly the same time. No trace. No witnesses. No answers. As fear spreads and suspicion builds, the tight-knit community is forced to confront the impossible: is something human—or something else—responsible?

Weapons boasts a powerhouse cast led by Josh Brolin, with Julia Garner, Alden Ehrenreich, Austin Abrams, Cary Christopher, Benedict Wong, and Amy Madigan. With such a dynamic lineup, expect compelling performances that match the intensity of the film’s unsettling narrative.

Zach Cregger not only directs from his own original screenplay, but also produces the film alongside genre heavyweights Roy Lee (It), Miri Yoon, J.D. Lifshitz, and Raphael Margules. Actor Josh Brolin also serves as executive producer, hinting at his deeper creative involvement.

Behind the scenes, Cregger’s trusted collaborators are back to elevate the tension. Larkin Seiple (Everything Everywhere All at Once) handles cinematography, while Tom Hammock’s production design promises an eerie, immersive world. The editing by Joe Murphy and costumes by Trish Sommerville ensure a polished, atmospheric experience. To top it off, the film’s unsettling tone will be underscored by a haunting score from Ryan Holladay, Hays Holladay, and Cregger himself.

If Barbarian was any indication of Cregger’s vision and ability to subvert expectations, Weapons could very well be the next major milestone in modern horror.
