Fans of sci-fi RPGs have a major reason to celebrate as The Expanse: Osiris Reborn officially revealed its first gameplay and announced a closed beta launching April 22. Developer Owlcat Games shared the news during the Xbox Partner Preview, offering players a glimpse into its story-driven action experience.
The beta will be available on PC, Xbox Series X|S, and PlayStation 5 for players who purchase special founder packs. Participants can explore a remote space station, experiment with dialogue choices, and engage in zero-gravity combat scenarios.
Set within the universe of The Expanse, the game places players in the role of a Pinkwater Security mercenary recovering from disaster on Eros. Building a team and confronting the shadowy Protogen organization will shape the narrative through meaningful decisions.
Beyond the beta, the title is slated for a Spring 2027 release, including a day-one debut on Xbox Game Pass. Feedback from early players will help refine systems ahead of launch.
While still in development, the beta promises a compelling preview of what could become a standout sci-fi RPG experience for fans worldwide. The newly released trailer highlights dynamic third-person combat, environmental hazards, and character interactions that emphasize choice and consequence. Movement in zero-g appears fluid, adding tactical depth to encounters. With strong narrative roots and ambitious systems, anticipation is steadily building ahead of its full release window in 2027 and beyond.
