After years of anticipation, MARS, the animated feature from cult comedy troupe The Whitest Kids U’Know, is finally blasting into theaters. Synergetic Distribution has announced an eight-city screening tour beginning February 20 in Los Angeles at participating Alamo Drafthouse locations. The tour, featuring cast Q&As, arrives ahead of the film’s wider theatrical release on March 13 and follows its world premiere at the Tribeca Film Festival.

Formed at New York City’s School of Visual Arts, The Whitest Kids U’Know—Trevor Moore, Zach Cregger, Sam Brown, Darren Trumeter, and Timmy Williams—rose from festival acclaim to a five-season IFC run that produced some of the 2000s’ most boundary-pushing sketch comedy.

MARS centers on Kyle, who half-heartedly enters a contest to visit Mars days before his wedding—and wins. Choosing space over matrimony, he soon discovers the luxury mission is a sham. Trapped with unhinged crewmates and no way home, Kyle’s interplanetary escape spirals into absurd chaos.

Conceived during the troupe’s original series and crowdfunded by a loyal Twitch fanbase, MARS marks a poignant milestone. “After over a decade of work, we couldn’t be more excited,” said Sam Brown, calling it the final project created with the late Trevor Moore. “It’s more than a movie to us… That being said, it is still very dumb and very fun.”

Directed by animator and FX artist Sevan Najarian (Mystery Science TheaterChildren’s Hospital), MARS blends heartfelt tribute with the troupe’s signature irreverence.
