Chicago’s indie music scene has a new reason to celebrate. Temp Wishes, a newly formed project featuring members of The M’s, 1900s, Cloudbirds, and Bobby Conn, are releasing their self-titled debut album tomorrow, Friday, November 6, via Rattleback Records/Sanzimat.

The band has also shared its latest single, “Mist Into the Morning,” offering another glimpse into a collection of psych-folk melodies, hazy textures, and laid-back grooves. Built around concise melodies and a lo-fi sheen, the album feels like a collection of half-remembered dreams set to music.

Temp Wishes brings together Josh Chicoine, Edward Anderson, Colby Starck, and Glenn Rischke. The project began taking shape in late 2018, when Chicoine, Anderson, and Starck started writing and recording demos in their North Side Chicago studio. After a lengthy pause, the group reunited to finish what would eventually become their debut record.

The album arrives digitally and on limited-edition vinyl, with the band marking the occasion with a release show at Constellation Chicago on Friday night, sharing the bill with The Singleman Affair.

The Singleman Affair

Led by Daniel Schneider, The Singleman Affair has spent more than two decades exploring the space between intimate folk songwriting and adventurous psychedelic sounds. This performance will feature a full band and introduce new material from the group’s upcoming release.

For Chicago music fans, it’s a chance to catch two distinct musical worlds on the same bill, with Temp Wishes celebrating the arrival of a long-in-the-making debut.
