Chicago singer-songwriter Terry White returns with his fourth full-length solo album, You Won’t Have a Name — a deeply personal collection written over the past four years. Known for his work with Modern Day Saints, the Yellowhammers, and later Cannonball, White has long been a fixture in Chicago’s vibrant roots-rock scene.

Recorded at Joyride Studios with engineer Blaise Barton (to whom the album is dedicated), the sessions brought together longtime collaborators Paul Bivans, Andon Davis, Michael Krayniak, and Chris Neville. Striving for an authentic, “live in-studio” feel, the songs were captured one at a time with minimal overdubs, giving the album an organic warmth.

Guests including Brian Leach, Gerald Dowd, Pie Eyed Pete Cimbalo, and Sheila Cimbalo help flesh out its textures, including a moving rendition of Woody Guthrie’s “Deportee (Plane Wreck at Los Gatos).”

Reflecting on friendship, love, and endurance, You Won’t Have a Name stands as one of White’s more heartfelt works — a testament to Chicago’s enduring community of musicians and storytellers.
