The Lemonheads are back. Today marks the release of Love Chant, the band’s first album of all-new original material in almost two decades, out now via Fire Records. Available digitally and in multiple collectible vinyl editions, Love Chantwas recorded in São Paulo with producer Apollo Nove (Rita Lee, Bebel Gilberto, Seu Jorge).
Led by singer-songwriter Evan Dando, the album delivers the melodic warmth, emotional candor, and wry lyricism that have long defined The Lemonheads. Tracks like “Deep End,” “In The Margin,” and “The Key of Victory” showcase collaborations with friends including J Mascis, Juliana Hatfield, Nick Saloman, and Erin Rae. Critics have already praised Love Chant as “scrappy, vulnerable, and heartfelt” (Mojo).
The Lemonheads are currently touring the U.S. through December 20, with Erin Rae joining as support. Meanwhile, Dando’s new memoir Rumors of My Demise offers an unfiltered look at fame, survival, and the enduring pull of music.
